Delivery Information

At Salt&Timber Designs, every product is crafted with care and precision. As soon as you place an order, our manufacturing process begins. Since all items are made-to-order by our highly skilled artisans in Cape Town, Durbanville, we offer competitive production lead times of 2-3 weeks. Once your masterpiece is complete, we initiate the delivery process.

Delivery Process & Timeframes

All Salt&Timber Designs products are made to order.

Manufacturing lead time: 2–3 weeks
Delivery time is not included in this lead time and will be additional

Depending on the transport company and your delivery location, nationwide deliveries may take up to 2 weeks once dispatched.

Local Deliveries (Cape Town & Surrounds)

Orders delivered within Cape Town and surrounding areas may arrive faster due to our close proximity and streamlined delivery process.

National Deliveries (Outside of Cape Town)

Deliveries to other major cities and outlying areas across South Africa may take longer, as we make use of trusted third-party transport services for nationwide shipping.

Delivery Fees

We aim to keep our delivery costs transparent and fair. All delivery fees are calculated based on the type of product in your order and will be shown in your Shopping Cart before checkout.

Small Item Orders:

Smaller items carry a flat R250 delivery fee per item.

Standard Furniture Orders:

We offer a flat delivery fee of R450 for all local orders within a 50km radius of Cape Town and Durbanville. This includes delivery to a single location. Enjoy free delivery on all orders over R25,000 within the same local area.
For outlying areas and locations outside of Cape Town, delivery fees will be calculated at checkout based on rates from our trusted third-party logistics partners.
Delivery to major cities (Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Port Elizabeth, East London, Nelspruit, and George) is capped at R950 per order.
A R250 surcharge applies to deliveries outside of these main centres.
For outlying or regional areas, the maximum delivery fee is R1200, inclusive of the surcharge.

Bulk Orders:
For large or bulk furniture purchases, the above fees do not apply. We will personally reach out to provide you with a custom delivery quote based on your order and location.

This structure allows us to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective delivery across South Africa.

Delivery Areas

We deliver to all cities and towns within South Africa. In rare cases where an area is deemed remote or high-risk by our couriers, we will contact you to arrange an alternative delivery solution before dispatching your order.

Missed Deliveries

Our delivery partners will make multiple attempts to ensure successful delivery. If they are unable to deliver after reasonable attempts, your order will be returned to our workshop in Durbanville. You may be responsible for additional delivery fees if your order is returned to us, as a new delivery will need to be scheduled.

Order Tracking

Once your product has been crafted, you will receive an email with delivery instructions. Please be patient while we carefully create your piece. Orders are not rushed, and our manufacturing lead time is up to 3 weeks. If you haven’t heard from us to schedule your delivery 3 weeks after placing your order, please email us at info@saltandtimber.co.za.

Once your order has been dispatched, you’ll receive an email from us with delivery details or a tracking number. For Cape Town deliveries, feel free to email us to follow up .

For national shipping outside of Cape Town, we use trusted third-party couriers. You can use your tracking number to follow up or make arrangements directly with the courier.

Damaged or Lost Orders

Before signing for your order, please inspect the packaging for any visible damage. If any items appear damaged or missing:

Note the issue on the delivery waybill.
Report it to us within 48 hours of receiving your order.
