Product Assembly

Most of our furniture is dispatched and delivered fully assembled, with the following exceptions:

Beds: Delivered with the base fully assembled, while the headboard is provided separately. If applicable, the headboard can be easily attached using the four bolts and Allen key supplied with the bed base.
Standard Range Furniture: Supplied fully assembled using joinery techniques and cannot be dismantled.
Removable Parts: Drawer boxes, doors, and certain internal cabinet shelves can be removed if the hardware permits.

Warranty Coverage

We provide a 6-month workmanship warranty starting from the date of delivery or collection, unless stated otherwise. This warranty covers manufacturing defects as determined by Salt&Timber Designs and excludes damage caused by wear and tear, misuse, improper handling, alterations, or any customer-inflicted damage. All our products undergo thorough quality control checks to ensure their integrity before delivery.

Warranty Coverage:

Original sales invoice/proof of purchase required.
Covers factory faults or defects only.
Not covered: wear and tear, misuse, improper handling, alterations or other external factors.
Products altered from their original state void warranty.
Warranty applies to domestic use only. Commercial use is not covered unless stated on the invoice.

If a product is found defective within 6 months year, Salt&Timber Designs may repair or replace the defective part or whole product. If neither is possible, store credit or a refund may be offered.

Important Notes:

Refunds, repairs, or replacements depend on various factors outlined in our Refund Policy.
Replacement products fall under the original warranty period.
No refunds/replacements for products misused or not cared for according to manufacturer instructions.
No refunds on products older than 6 months – only repair, replacement, or store credit applies.

Returns & Refunds

Returning Defective or Damaged Products

You may refuse delivery of any product that is visibly damaged upon arrival. However it is imperative to take photos of the condition of the packaging and product upon arrival.
Clearly state the damage on the delivery note.
The driver will return the product to Salt&Timber Designs. Contact us immediately to report the issue.
If damage becomes apparent after delivery, you have 48 hours to report it.

Returns/replacements are at Salt&Timber Designs' discretion.
We cannot be held liable for damages visible at the time of delivery if they were not noted upon receipt.
If damage is reported after 48 hours, Salt&Timber Designs may determine it was caused post-delivery.
Defective item replacements: Salt&Timber Designs covers collection and delivery costs.
Non-defective item returns: You may be liable for transport costs and a minimum 5% handling fee.
If the original packaging has been discarded, you must package and protect the item before returning it.
Quality control inspection: Up to 3 working days once the product reaches our workshop.

Refund Policy

No refunds on orders placed.
Refunds are only issued when Salt&Timber Designs is unable to repair or replace a defective product.

Natural Variations
in Wood

Our furniture is crafted from solid wood, a natural material that features unique grain patterns, textures, and color variations. As a result, no two pieces will ever be identical. Customers should expect natural differences in wood grain, knots, color variations, and other organic characteristics. These natural features are an inherent part of solid wood furniture and are not considered defects or manufacturing faults.

Additionally, slight imperfections such as small knots, minor surface irregularities, or natural variations in texture may be present. These are part of the beauty of real wood and do not impact the durability or quality of the furniture. By placing an order, you acknowledge and accept these natural characteristics, understanding that your piece will be one of a kind.

Electronic Vouchers & Promotional Coupons

Gift Vouchers

Salt&Timber Designs Gift Vouchers can be purchased for use on our website. Upon purchase, these vouchers will be sent via email to the designated recipient. To redeem vouchers or check existing credit, visit My Account on our website. To purchase a voucher please send us an email at info@saltandtimber.co.za

Vouchers must be redeemed before their expiry date (expiry dates cannot be extended).
Valid only for online purchases on the Salt&Timber Designs website.
Cannot be used to purchase additional gift vouchers.
Not exchangeable for cash or transferable to another person once assigned.
If the order total is less than the voucher amount, the remaining credit will expire on the original expiry date.
If the voucher value is insufficient for your order, you may pay the difference using another payment method.
Vouchers cannot cover delivery charges.

Promotional Coupons

Promotional coupons are issued electronically at Salt&Timber Designs' discretion.

Valid only for the specified period and can be redeemed once.
Cannot be used in conjunction with other promotional vouchers, Salt&Timber Designs Gift Vouchers, or any items that are on discount on our website.
Apply only to specified products and promotions.
Maximum discount is determined at Salt&Timber Designs' discretion.
No refund or residual credit if the order total is less than the coupon value.
If the coupon value is insufficient for your order, you may pay the difference using another payment method.
Cannot cover delivery charges, be used to purchase other vouchers, or be exchanged for cash.

Fraud & Security: In cases of fraud, deception, or suspicious illegal activities related to voucher purchases or redemptions, Salt&Timber Designs reserves the right to close your account and require an alternative payment method.

Salt&Timber Designs assumes no liability for the loss, theft, or illegibility of gift or promotional vouchers.

Competitions & Giveaways

Competitions, giveaways, and promotional contests (“Competitions”) run by Salt&Timber Designs are subject to the following general Terms and Conditions. By entering any Competition, participants agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as any additional rules or details provided for each specific Competition.

Eligibility

Competitions are open to residents of South Africa, unless otherwise stated.
Entrants must be 18 years or older.
Employees, agents, suppliers, or partners of Salt&Timber Designs, as well as their immediate family members, are not eligible to enter.
Salt&Timber Designs reserves the right to request proof of age, identity, or residency.

How to Enter

Entry requirements will be specified for each Competition (e.g., liking a post, tagging friends, following pages, submitting forms, etc.).
Only entries that meet all requirements will be considered valid. No responsibility is accepted for incomplete, late, lost, or corrupted entries.

Competition Period

Each Competition will specify its own opening and closing dates. Entries received outside the specified period will not be accepted.

Prizes

Prize details will be outlined for each Competition.
Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and not redeemable for cash, unless otherwise stated.
Salt&Timber Designs reserves the right to substitute any prize with another of equal or greater value if the original prize becomes unavailable.

Winner Selection & Notification

Winners will be selected at the sole discretion of Salt&Timber Designs, either through a random draw or another method as specified.
Winners will be contacted via the platform or contact details used to enter.
If a winner cannot be reached within 5 working days, Salt&Timber Designs reserves the right to select an alternative winner.

Delivery or Collection of Prize

Delivery terms will vary depending on the prize and may be limited to specific geographic areas.
Winners may be required to collect prizes if delivery falls outside applicable zones.
Salt&Timber Designs is not responsible for delays, loss, or damage caused during delivery.

Disqualification

Salt&Timber Designs reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who breaches these Terms, provides false information, uses automated or fraudulent entry methods, engages in harmful or inappropriate conduct.

Use of Content & Publicity

By entering, participants consent to Salt&Timber Designs using their name, comments, or submitted content for marketing, winner announcements, or promotional purposes.
Winners may be asked to provide photos or content related to prize delivery or usage.

Liability

Salt&Timber Designs will not be liable for any loss, injury, damage, or disappointment arising from participation in any Competition or from acceptance of any prize.
Participants enter at their own risk.

Modifications and Cancellation

Salt&Timber Designs reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel a Competition at any time without prior notice.

Acceptance of Terms

Participation in any Competition implies full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
